let's say you're a jw, you're curious about some quote you found on the internet -- some newer book slyly changes mention of a date prediction from 1874 to 1914 -- and you'd like to see the original pages of those books.

i think you guys are getting the wt's call for jw's to send in old books to help out in africa. maybe 1980's . then hearing that the wt it self was burning many of these books and not sending them to africa etc. is what you guys are talking about. there were dozens of threads about this directive from the tower to send older books. and a date and page maybe km. you guys are losing your memories john

How many JWs die for want of a blood transfusion?

does anyone have a rough or even accurate idea of how many jws lose their lives each year due to the no blood doctrine?.

i read a guess on one of the x jw sites a few years ago. 500-1500 die every year from the no blood policy. don't ask me were i read it because i forgot. maybe wt. observer

i had an assignment to write a bunch of holiday articles that would be shared by all the various papers owned by the guy who owns the paper i'm the editor of.

after i'd had enough with the usual holiday stuff, i decided to get a little adventerous and expanded one in the series to include, not just the origins of christmas foods, but also some ideas i've been reading and watching about the origins of the chrisitain religion itself.. this is a link to the article, which ran a few weeks ago: .

just as i posted on this topic a few days ago. this article will piss people off. just think there's GRANDMA cooking that xmas turkey, ham, with a box load of candy canes to give out to the kids when they come over. she takes a break from cooking . and checks the paper, only to find her GOOSE is cooked. because she's worshipping some norse GOD. and forget about the Ham, GRandMa is british, and hates anything roman, ie. the pope. seeker i like your posts. but this article was just like using one of those old wt sound cars. and driving up and down every street in town blasting out . on Xmas day your celebration is false. if i was the editor i would have never let it get printed. weather i beleived in jesus or not. it was disrespectful to people trying to have a nice day. very much akin to jw's going d2d on xmas, telling householders xmas is pagan. sorry if i offend you. but that's how i see it. john

i think this can all be summed up with the betheny ,Lawerance HUghes case the jw father wanted his girl to get blood. and the best chance for life. the WTS. stepped in with a van load of lawyers. work that would have costed $100,000'S all to pressure the court and demoralize a poor middle class working guy. the end result a dead girl. ( not saying she wouldn't have died) and broken family.

JWs in Field Service Today--Christmas.

i guess the local kh is doing a special field service outing today, which my wife will be a part of...on christmas morning.

i think this is intrusive and disrespectful.. did any of you do fs on christmas?.

is this a common thing among jws?

danny haszard; thanks for this article. i called the reporter MR.steven vegh at 757 446 2417. hell of a nice guy. seems he didn't know much about jw's. so i gave him a little lesson. he sounded surprised how i made the elders comments null and void. just told him about the basic wt doctrine. and how jesus choose the wt in 1914 and all else were to die. he admitted he has recieved other calls etc. and might not do another article on jw's till he did more research. now's the time to call . alittle push with some help and his next article . may have a whole different light ... john
